Education, historical tourism and regional development: a look at the Contestado War in the Northern Plateau of Santa Catarina

This text explores the relationship between the preservation of territorial assets and intangible historical heritage from the Contestado War, historical tourism, and the educational aspect at all levels in the Northern Plateau of Santa Catarina. Formal education plays a key role in the recognition and teaching of local history, using the historical territory as a means of learning. The intersection between education and historical tourism proves to be an essential factor for regional development, promoting not only economic benefits, but also the conservation of natural and cultural heritage. The conscious exploitation of territorial assets, combined with tourism and education, creates opportunities for holistic and sustainable development. The importance of public policies that encourage the preservation and proper exploitation of these assets is highlighted, aiming at economic, educational and social development in the region.
