Abstract

The right to education aims at the full development of the person, their preparation for citizenship and qualification for work. However, this right does not always guarantee the improvement of people's quality of life. Thus, the research arises from the importance of effective education in citizens' lives, with the general objective of analyzing the effectiveness of this right in Marabá-PA. To this end, documentary, qualitative, and bibliographical research was conducted. By observing the data collected by the Qedu Platform regarding public schools in Marabá-PA, problems such as low learning levels were identified, worsened when considering income and ethnicity. After the analysis, it is concluded that public schools in Marabá-PA show little educational progress, despite the right being guaranteed by the Federal Constitution, which highlights failures in the implementation of this fundamental right.

Keywords: right to education; quality of education; public school; progress.
