Los reyunos: an academic center for local development

Abstract

The Los Reyunos Technological Center for Regional Development of the National Technological University, based in San Rafael, Argentine Republic, was created as a space for a multidisciplinary approach to development, meeting the objective of becoming a national Center, with local impact. and federal criteria. It aims to be a relevant actor for the territories with which it interacts, contributing knowledge, professionalism and work to the Public Agenda. As such, it is a Special University Project, to contribute to the development of the territories. Within the framework of its own agenda of activities, it has been carrying out actions that directly link it with other institutions in South America, both at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate level, contributing to an internationalization process in the format of integration networks, although without there being a specific guideline. Rather, it was driven by interpersonal ties and leadership that contributed to a significant number of activities. Through an analysis of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats - SWOT - and according to the experience obtained in sixteen years of activities, the aim is to consolidate a strategy that encourages and facilitates the active participation of the CTDR in the international knowledge landscape, establishing links of complementarity, collaboration and mutual support in academic, technological and service areas, with Higher Education Institutions in the Southern Cone of America.
