The present article aims to portray femicide in Brazil, which is a final and regrettable result of an avoidable death, in most cases, in most cases being the end of countless women who started to live with domestic or even family violence. Carrying out an approach on the indefensibility of women in contemporary society in view of the ineffectiveness of protective measures and their inapplicability. It is evident that domestic violence is rooted in Brazilian society, which has resulted in the crime of femicide. The proposed research uses the deductive method, through bibliographic research and research reports carried out in Brazil, considering that violence against women has existed for a long time and has intensified. In this light, the study concludes that although the legislation is present effectively in society, until now it has not been sufficient to ensure that the necessary measures and care are taken before the victim. In addition, there are factors present in the recurring scenario of the countless forms of aggression against women, many of which result in feminicide, such as the cultural factor. However, it is concluded that all laws, and programs that help the victim have contributed to the woman's leaving violent homes and may have the life they have always dreamed of.
