the increase of cases and the reduction of complaints during the social isolation facing the COVID-19 pandemic

This article aims to conceptualize fundamental rights and women's rights, verify issues related to the pandemic, as well as fake violence against women in Brazil and analyze the increase in cases and decrease in complaints during the social isolation imposed by COVID-19. This work uses qualitative research through the deductive method, based on Brazilian legislation, especially the Maria da Penha Law n. 11.340/06, doctrine with the purpose of conceptualizing the types of violence against women existing in the Brazilian legal system and specifying their differences. The pandemic imposed by COVID-19 is a significant factor to be studied due to the social isolation that took place in 2020 and 2021, and the increase in cases of violence against women and the decrease in complaints, as those caused coexist with your aggressors continuously. Finally, we seek to answer the question: Was there an increase in cases of domestic violence against women during a COVID-19 pandemic? With this increase, was there a drop incomplaints made? Through the analysis of data recorded in the last year, it can be seen that while cases of domestic violence increased, as complaints in police stations decreased, mainly due to the need for an investigation to be initiated with the presence of the victim.
