This article seeks to present the illicit trafficking of narcotics and its effects on criminality, as well as to present preventive policies for the consumption of narcotics in Brazil. Thus, it is questioned whether illicit drug trafficking has an influence on crime and what are the preventive policies for the consumption of narcotics in Brazil. The general objective addresses some types of crimes and their relationship with drug trafficking and analyzes how policies to prevent drug use in Brazil, questioning their influence on crime and addressing preventive policy. The work is based on qualitative research methodology of deductive method, through theoretical research with bibliographic analysis. The geographic scope is Brazil and as a temporal delimitation researches carried out in the last 10 (ten) years are adopted. It is concluded, through the studies carried out, that it is a fact that drugs can be related to crime through the connection with the drug trade itself and through the psychological effects that the drug produces on the user, which can lead them to commit crimes to in order to get more drugs for your use. As well as it is possible for the State to prevent the use of drugs through the various measures contained in the Anti-Drug Law, as long as it effectively complies.
