This article emerges from the research project "Autran Dourado: aprender a desaprender para re-aprender a crítica", erected at the Núcleo de Estudos Culturais Comparados (NECC). Anchoring myself in the perception that the critical fortune of the literature of the writer mineiro Autran Dourado is not widely studied, I aim to discuss, with support of the border biographical criticism (Nolasco, 2015), as its critical fortune allows dialogues with decoloniality from the concept of modernity. Thus, focusing on the texts "As potências de Autran Dourado" (Guimarães, 2024a), "Ficções nas ficções de Autran Dourado" (Guimarães, 2024b) and "Modernismo mineiro e o cosmopolitismo" (Souza, 2022), besides other critical compositions, seek to draw theoretical comparisons that are directed to rethink modernity. In this sense, considering the critical pieces listed, I foresee that the poetic autraniana is located geographically and historically in the transition of an archaic Minas Gerais to its modernization phase, factors that allow me to erect a critical doing at the confluence with the myth of modernity (Dussel, 2000). Finally, I am building my ideas in order to establish a practice of re-reading the critical reception of Autrano and consequently its literature.
Key words: Autran Dourado; comparative literature; biographic frontier criticism; critical reception; modernity.
